Marvin Rauf was born in England and is of Jamaican and Kashmiri descent. He grew up understanding many opinions, beliefs, and values due to his unique and multicultural upbringing.

H. E. Marvin Rauf founded the Marvellous Foundation, a nonprofit organisation that focuses on helping the vulnerable and impoverished worldwide. Their popularity has grown steadily over the years through word of mouth as they continue to effectively manage their team of volunteers and solicit for donations to help individuals in need.

Rauf shares some of his insights regarding the foundation and the vital components necessary to create sustainable communities.

The Genesis of the Marvellous Foundation

Rauf: Sometime in 2012, A couple of friends and I saw the BBC's charity, Children in Need. After this, we decided to visit The Gambia. There was a significant lack of access to water, sanitation, and hygiene, and we invested our money to help provide these to the communities we visited. We witnessed how much this impacted the lives of the poor and vulnerable communities, especially the children. This inspired me to do something about it, which led me to create the Marvellous Foundation.

The Vital Role of Education in Creating Sustainable Communities

Rauf: When I think of hope, change, and progress, I think of education. Education can improve the health and well-being of the less fortunate. It is also essential to reduce poverty and malnutrition while driving economic growth. I would never have achieved my success today without my life experiences and educational background.

A Focus on The Children

Rauf: I realised how important good education is through my own experience in school. Quality education is even more important to children in less fortunate families. It offers kids the freedom to explore creative forms of expression, fulfil their potential, and help them escape this cycle of deprivation. I am committed to further inspiring local leaders to prioritise the children, their well-being, and education.

A Homegrown Desire to Help

Rauf: I am determined to carry out my mission to help the poor and maintain my role as a role model and leader in advancing education in communities across the Asian and African continents. I strongly value the philanthropic values instilled by my parents and my diverse upbringing.
